Air-Dried Duck Feet Dog Treats: Crunchy Natural Chews

A duck foot is a whole, honest chew: skin, tendon, cartilage and bone, air-dried until it crunches. One ingredient, nothing added. Ours are dehydrated in small batches, fully cooked by the drying process, and packed eight to a bag. They are the bigger, denser cousin of our chicken feet, which is why we point medium and large dogs at these and smaller dogs at those.

Are duck feet good for dogs?

As a chew, yes: they satisfy the urge to chew with something that is mostly protein and cartilage rather than flour and glycerin. A duck foot is a treat, not a meal, so keep chews inside about ten percent of your dog's daily food, and ask your veterinarian before adding them if your dog has a health condition or is on a prescription diet.

Are air-dried duck feet safe?

Air-drying is not the same as cooking in an oven. The bones stay pliable enough to crunch and break down as the dog chews rather than shattering the way cooked poultry bones can. Supervise chewing, choose the right size for the dog, and take away any small piece that could be swallowed whole. Very fast eaters do better with duck feet than chicken feet precisely because there is more to work through.
